Not so fast...

Today has been a major disappointment. First I was supposed to start my water aerobics class but when I checked before leaving, I found it had been rescheduled and doesn't start now until September 12th. Major bummer. I was really ready to cool off in the pool but it's closed for maintenance.

Next, I don't understand...if we have an entirely new AC unit installed why is it freezing up like the old one? Why is it making a strange vibration noise? And why, oh why does it have to do these things when I want to sleep in cool temperatures? I have been waiting to sleep in my nice cool 68˚ and have yet to have that pleasure. I don't sleep well in warmer climes so I haven't had a good night sleep in nearly a week. Last night, maybe 2 hrs. which only made me so tired I slept most of the day away.

Is there a patron saint of weather or AC?

Ahhh...cool again!

Tim and I have been surviving the last few days with two fans...one upstairs, one down.

Wednesday afternoon I mentioned to Tim that it didn't seem to be cool in the house and he checked and determined that the coolants in the AC had frozen up so he turned it off. We headed to bed - our room normally a cool 68˚ but this night a warmer 75˚. With a floor fan we suffered through and he headed off to work instructing me to turn it back on when I came back from my errands Thursday morning.

So when I got back, and it wasn't too bad temperature-wise, I decided to leave off a little while longer. When he came home from work, on it went a few hours later, he came downstairs and asked me what the strange smell was. I thought my PC was overheating (I smelled something burning) but he decided it was the AC and turned it off again. Last night our room was a warmer 79˚ and we both got little sleep.

This afternoon when the repairman came and examined the equipment, he said that if we had left it on for a few more hours, we would have burned the house down. Guess the good Lord was watching over us.

Now we have a brand new AC unit and the house is cooling down again. Can't wait for 68˚ tonight!

Too bad, so sad

Well, one of the main reasons why I went to all the trouble to get those shots in my back, was so that I could feel better and would be able to participate in some activities with others.
I had been looking forward to a golf tournament with my golf group with guests (my SIL and Niece) . I was so excited that they were both taking off work and we were going to hit the course together. Unfortunately, last week the shots started to wear off, and today when the event was played, again I was sitting on the sidelines literally. The weather which had been my biggest worry - would it be too hot? - turned out to be perfect and my foursome (without me) did manage to grab first place (YEAH!) but I just wish I could have joined in other than just riding around in the cart and keeping score.

I have my appointment to go back to pain management but dang...why couldn't it have held out a little longer?
